Sabre girls soccer shutout Tech 2-0

In a hard-fought match Sept. 11 against St. Cloud Tech Tigers, the Sartell girls’ soccer team stymied the Tech offense and shut out the Tigers 2-0.

Sartell controlled the play early in the game keeping the Tigers off balance with some strong offensive sallies and controlling the Tech offense for a good share of the first period. Tech made a foray and countered before the end of the first half, but Jenna Eibes capitalized on a mistouched ball and managed to drill the ball into the back of the net with 33 minutes elapsed in the period.[...]   Read More -->

Sabres have all the parts but need experience

It’s the second week of practice and football coach Scott Hentges is carefully evaluating and watching his crop of players for this year. Last year Sartell was 6-4 for the season with a fairly seasoned cast of starters. Not bad, but there is room for improvement. Boys soccer split opening two games

Sabres mauled by Bears 5-0

The Sartell boys soccer team lost its opening match of the the season on Aug. 25 as the Blake Bears penetrated the Sabre defense and scored two goals in the first half of the match.

While the Sabre offense found some ways to move the ball, they were never able to find the back of the net. Blake’s defense held the Sabres scoreless in the second period and managed to improve its offensive output scoring three more goals and putting the big W in the win column. [...]   Read More -->
