Fourteen to be inducted into Hall of Fame

Fourteen people will be inducted into the Sartell Athletic Hall of Fame for the year 2013.

The Hall of Fame was created several years ago by the Sartell High School Athletic and Sabre Booster Club, which recently announced the honorees.

Muskies to vie Saturday for state title

Fresh from a 6-0 triumph in Delano, the Sartell Muskies will compete for the state championship this Saturday starting at 7:30 p.m. in Maple Lake.

Local lawmakers to attend ceremony for USS Minnesota

For the first time since 1907, an advanced naval warship will be named after the State of Minnesota, and the new ship is the most state-of-the-art attack submarine in the United States Navy’s arsenal.

State Rep. Tim O’Driscoll (R-Sartell) will be one of several local lawmakers who will attend the commissioning ceremony of the “USS Minnesota” Saturday, Sept. 7 at the naval shipyard at Norfolk, Va. The submarine was officially christened Oct. 27, 2012.[...]   Read More -->

Dayton appoints Rasmussen to commission

Anita Rasmssen, Sartell’s long-time city planner and developer, has been appointed by Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton to the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission.

St. John’s Prep to use a flipped classroom model

St. John’s Prep plans to use a flipped classroom model for the 2013-14 school year.

SJP Principal Matthew Reichert explained that means traditional classroom instruction is flipped on its head.

Rieland certifies as emergency manager

Sartell Fire Marshal Butch Rieland recently qualified as a certified emergency manager for the State of Minnesota.
